housing provision for risk groups

Acronym

Community Action Programme to Combat Social Exclusion 2002 – 2006

Transnational Exchange programme (under budget line B3-4105)

Abstract

The Project has the special character of a networking project, i.e. the goal is disseminating information and proven procedures, exchange and mutual learning.

The focus of the project lies in client-oriented forms of cooperation in the housing stock policy between local authorities, housing providers and social care providers to integrate socially weak persons into standard housing or to prevent eviction.

Main objectives

Phase I of this project consisted of preparing an effective programme based on trans-national partnerships in order to promote information exchange on strategies used to improve the housing provision of risk groups on urban housing markets through new forms of cooperation in housing stock policy.

In Phase II we continue in an enlarged partnership with additional cities in selected countries and further develop and implement the method of approach to dialogue and co-operative partnership between institutions providing housing assistance.

The network will undertake a review of mainstream policies and local initiatives to assist people in housing need. This is based on a comparative process of best practice identification, discussion under the viewpoint of transferability and under selected focuses and broad exchange of results.
